It's hard to believe that this site has been up for a year in its present configuration.

People have been really kind in their response. And, surprisingly, there have been some new models and some old friends who surfaced recently.

In the "virginia visit" portfolio, we have a chance to see new work from Elkie Cooper and from Meghann. Both of them are returning to modeling after a hiatus. And both are as lovely as ever.

And in the alli(sin) port, you'll see a new Ohio model, who also goes by Absinthia on Model Mayhem. She found me on there and came up the next weekend for a shoot.

Coming soon: Some shots of Leigh, a wonderful lady from Maryland. She's 64 years old and has some amazing tattoos, not to mention a grand spirit.

Here's hoping folks continue to enjoy the site, and models keep on finding me.

I said I would post the folks who have set up shoots with me.

Well, after a long recuperation period from surgery, I've managed to get some things going.

First, there's Janay coming in tomorrow to do a few tests. She's a local gal, just getting her feet wet.

Then, we have Kendra on tap for a shoot at Brushwood, the site of many a pagan festival. The former farm is a great location for outdoor figure work. We're planning the shoot for Aug. 23.

Next, there's Rev, another relative newcomer. We're to shoot near Cincy. That's on Aug. 25. And Catlynn is just added for Aug. 26 in the Cincy area. Now, Lesa is planning on shooting Aug. 26.

Rose, a cute gamer girl, says she's coming in Sept. 6.

And in mid-September, Leigh is coming in from Maryland for a day's worth of shooting. With luck, we'll find her a "partner in crime," so the shoot will be even more memorable.

That's the bookings list so far. We'll let you know how things come out, and post some images for your perusal.

It didn't take long for the first disappearing act. Janay had scheduled a 5 p.m. shoot for today (8/3/8). Here it is nearly 7:30 p.m. and there's been no word from her.

Kendra's shoot has been postponed.

Finally, shoots! Rev Arielle, Catlyn and Lesa all showed up and threw themselves into shooting. Fact is, two of the three were too hot for femmefete, and the other (Rev Arielle) wanted to go in a more strongly fetish direction. So... Rose had to postpone her trip.

Leigh, on the other hand, has already booked a hotel room.

Meanwhile, two old friends reappeared after a time away from modeling. The visit to Virginia produced some lovely images and a great time catching up with two wonderful women.

And Alli(sin) found me on Model Mayhem, scheduled a shoot for the next weekend and appears in her own portfolio here.

All in all, the past couple of months reaffirmed why shooting photos is so rewarding.

Getting old is not for the faint of heart!

Because of a number of health problems, I haven't been updating here very often. With luck, that can start to change in the coming weeks.

There are new pictures of a girl named "Invisible Skittle." She's a total gas, stands about 6-1 and just loves to explore her options. I also need to share some images of Mia and Ali. Plus, there are thousands of things just clamoring to get out of the archives.

Also, my show "Skin Deep" at the Butler Institute of American Art is scheduled to stay up through mid July. There are 13 prints on the wall and 30 images in an electronic show.

That lovely lady, Hope from Maine, came by again. It's always a delight to see here. There are a few shots from our work in the "just figures" section of the site.

Besides being a models, Hope is also a musician and a dancer. If you get the chance to have her visit your area, you'll be in for a treat.

February is typically slow, but the next few weeks are anything but.

First, we have Anne of Ohio scheduled for this weekend. That's followed by Hope from Maine, coming in by train and leaving by plane. In between, we get to shoot.

In the meantime, if anybody has special ideas ... or if anyone would like to shoot, this is a good time to schedule visits.

Surprisingly, the holiday season was busy, busy, busy ... for shooting new stuff. Who would have thought?

First, as I mentioned earlier, I got to work with Nikki Crome of Crome Cre8ive out of Chicago and model Ami S from Georgia. They came to the "dungeon" and transformed it into a surreal nesting place for Ami, who was about four months pregnant at the time.

I was going to get those shots up when I had to opportunity to go to Toledo for a shoot between Christmas and New Year's. Surprise, that shoot didn't happen, but I crashed Boyd's CAC shoot and was rewarded by several wonderful young ladies who wanted to shoot.

Now, I have two (or maybe more) new sets that need attention. The bad news is they're not ready for prime time yet. The good news is that they're coming along nicely, so I hope to have at least one of them completed this weekend.

BTW, the new look of the site has apparently attracted some folks to come and visit more often, so that's a great thing. And a few supporters have even ordered some custom prints (not the sizes listed on the site). So, just a reminder: If you want something, don't be afraid to ask. That's called a commission in the art world, and commissions are good!

As 2007 draws to a close, it's clear that a lot of the face of photography on the Web has changed.

Where once Glamour Models, Garage Glamour and Web Models were the hotshots, it's now Model Mayhem and its ilk.

Where photographers discussed equipment and techniques in forums, they're now blogging (like this one). And where traffic was driven by content, it's now all about the advertising you can deliver.

So, I guess I'm old-fashioned. I still prefer to have photos on display and hope that people will find some joy in them. Every now and again, I hear from somebody who's moved to do something about it. Like the young lady from the Dayton area who hopes to come to NE Ohio and shoot with me. Or the woman who's going to meet me in Toledo for a shoot.

Also, Nikki Crome and Ami S. (from Chicago and Georgia, respectively) came in recently to work on some pregnancy photos for Ami. Nikki had a concept she wanted to work on, while Ami and I had some ideas. So, we all got together and had a fine old time doing a raft of different work.

I'll be posting a portfolio of what we accomplished together after the new year. Suffice it to say, it's a different look, but one that I think fits in well with the notion of celebrating women with photography.

Isn't this the way it often goes? You tell people you're going to shoot with somebody, and then it just doesn't happen.

Well, Tattooed Beauty didn't make it to her shoot. I don't know why, haven't heard from her in the week since it was scheduled to occur.

But things aren't all bad. With the money saved on the hotel reservations, I purchased a very nice new leather office chair. It was on sale at Office Max and set up in minutes.

Look for some Anna V. pictures soon. I'm still debating putting up shots of her with her fellow. They did some interesting things with electrical tape!

Things aren't exactly back to normal here in femmefete land, but it has been heartening to see a resurgence of interest in the photos.

Already, we've had the opportunity to shoot with Anna V., a model from Columbus who's almost as impetuous as she is creative.

There are some big shoots coming up soon, too, including Tattooed Beauty and Ami S. (in December). So, things are looking bright for some new and intriguing shoots.

Thanks to all the folks who have visited. The site is going to grow, so keep an eye on it.
